Freelance food writer, food consultant and food stylist I am a British food writer and stylist based in the historic city of Guildford in South East England. My full CV is available to view on this site but in summary I have worked in both food education (undergraduate and post - graduate degree programmes) and in the food industry in product and recipe development. I am currently studying at City University for an MSc in Food Policy. In the last 10 years I have developed my career as a food consultant and food writer having published materials both in the UK and abroad (Singapore and Taiwan). Most recently I have written the secondary materials for Active Kids Get Cooking a web based project to encourage children to cook which is managed by the Design & Technology Association, the British Nutrition Foundation and supported by the DfES. During 4 years in Taipei (2001-2005) I was editor of a consumer/lifestyle magazine for the International Community and wrote freelance for several other publications. I have written and researched over sixty articles about people, food and places. My work also included: food styling for a Taiwanese cookery book, regular contributor to Discover Taipei (bi-monthly magazine of Taipei City Government), Topics magazine (published by the American Chamber of Commerce in Taipei) and Travel in Taiwan ( a publication of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau) I also teach fusion style cooking. Commissions I am available to write on food related subjects for magazines, books and web publications and to prepare food for photography for books, magazines or advertisments and can be contacted via this website.
